Alice was orphaned at an early age and raised with the Carlstroem family as one of them. But being the oldest she took care of the younger ones. During the American occupation she met Captain Beach whose wife was dying in the States. At about 1916, Grandfather Carlstroem sent her to New Yourk to finish her studies. There she was in touch with Captain Beach, a widower. They were married and started a family.

Alice married Edward Latimer Beach Captain in Nov 1917 in New York. Edward was born in 1867 and died in 1943 at age 76.
